Attendance

Please call the studio at 663-2738 or email at lisasislanddancecenter@gmail.com prior to class if your dancer will be absent. Please be on time and come with a positive attitude and willingness to challenge your abilities.

Classes meet on a weekly basis with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break.

Classes will be canceled and rescheduled only if Eaton Rapids Public Schools are closed due to weather.

We have dance class on 1/2 days of school, teacher workdays and Monday holidays (with the exception of those listed above).

Classes are usually rescheduled in April/May for Recital practice.

More than three missed classes after January may result in being excused from classes and/or excluded from the Annual Dance Revue

If making up missed classes, please do so within one month. No make-up classes will be allowed in April or after due to the Annual Dance Revue preparation.

Abscence from Dress Rehearsal must be pre-excused by Miss Lisa. If not, you may risk not being able to dance in the Annual Dance Revue

Performance Policy

There will be two performances held at the Eaton Rapids high School in Jun; your dancer is required to participate in both. No dancers are allowed in the auditorium during the performances. Dancers will be supervised in the band room during the performance.

Mandatory Enforced Dress Code

Show your respect. Baggy sweatshirts or sweatpants make it difficult to observe the dancers' bodies well to offer the technical corrections needed to build strong dancers.

Ballet:

Leotard and tights are absolutely mandatory! Short ballet skirts are acceptable

NO gym shorts

Hip-Hop:

Comfortable clothing that moves.

NO jeans

Jazz, Lyrical & Tap:

Leotard and tights or snug fitted tees/tanks with skots, capris or leggings. Tights are madatory unless wearing capris/leggings.

NO gym shorts

Hair:

To prevent distractions when executing turns and movements with body bends (except hip-hop):

      - Long hair is to be in a ponytail or bun

      - Short hair must be clipped away from the face

      - Depending on length of hair, a headband may not be appropriate
